Muhammad Mughrabi is an artist, rapper and film-maker whose work increasingly uses the tool of provocation to speak from the viewpoint of a young Palestinian Jerusalemite. The Birth of a Nation is a performance that addresses the project of Return with the challenging question of sacrifice and sin. Having grown up in the Shu'fat Refugee Camp as a second-generation refugee, Mughrabi questions the status quo of the "Palestinian Refugee" as a symbol of the Palestinian national project.
